Format
In addition to presenting DataOps ideas and concepts, the instructor will organize discussions on key concepts where the participants can relate their unique situations to the materials. The instructor also facilitates lists of actions to improve the current situation.

What does DataOps training cover?
The practices that let a data team ship quickly without breaking numbers: automated testing, deployment practice, environment management, observability, and the measurement that shows whether any of it is working. It is oriented around what a team does on Monday rather than around theory.
Who should attend DataOps training?
Data engineers, analytics engineers, and the leads accountable for delivery. Including at least one manager matters, because several of the practices require changing how work is scheduled and reviewed, which an individual contributor cannot adopt alone.
Is there a free DataOps certification?
Yes. DataKitchen offers free certification in DataOps fundamentals and in data quality and observability testing. They are self-paced and open to anyone, which makes them a reasonable way to evaluate the material before committing a team to formal training.
How is training delivered?
As focused sessions built around your own stack and data rather than generic examples, so the practice transfers directly. Teams that train on sample data usually have to translate everything afterward, and much of it does not survive the translation.
What will the team be able to do afterward?
Generate test coverage across an estate instead of hand-writing checks, run tests as pipeline gates, monitor tables for freshness and volume, and measure cycle time and error rate. The intent is capability the team keeps, not dependency on an outside party.
Do we need to buy tooling for the training?
No. The training uses open-source DataOps TestGen and DataOps Observability, both Apache 2.0 and installable behind your firewall. Teams can keep using them indefinitely at no cost after the training ends.
Who teaches the training?
Gil Benghiat, Co-Founder and VP of Products and Implementation, teaches the one-day DataOps Workshop, and Chris Bergh, CEO, teaches the free Fundamentals of DataOps course. Between them they co-authored the DataOps Cookbook the material is built on, along with the DataOps Manifesto and the Data Journey Manifesto, so the course is theirs rather than a deck they were handed. Both have run data platforms in production, which is why the sessions work through real failures instead of textbook cases.
